Wedding afghan

This is from an old pattern that I had from 1989 called Negatively Speaking by Martha Schmidt with Needle Maid Designs. I am stitching on a Valentina afghan which is unfortunately no longer made. The main color is DMC 827 and the backstitching is DMC 826. It is 14 count so it is 4 threads over one and the back stitching is 2 threads over one.

Mirabilia's Stargazer

This is the start of Mirabilia's Stargazer with SMF 28 count Cashel Opalescent called Southern Star. I was told that this fabric was made originally for this piece.

Red Velvet

This is how far I've gotten on my Red Velvet piece. It really is beautiful. I can't wait to complete it.

Cinderella

I really haven't gotten very far. My next way of rotating my pieces is to do 500 stitches before I move on to the next piece. I still have so many pieces that I want to complete. I love working on this fabric.

ABC Marquoir

This is a 16 month project that I am going to be starting. The project started September 16, 2006. I started out wanting to use VC French Artichoke (17 skeins) and Dark Mauve (8 skeins). I was planning on using 40 count cream Newcastle. You can find the information on Blogger's The Useful Needle. I then switched my fabric to 36 count antique white Edinburgh with 90 yards of Gloriana's Blueberry. I didn't like the French Artichoke and the dark mauve colors together.

http://users.skynet.be/bk236098/CARINNE/

Design size (all 16 parts) = 491 X 665 stitches
Fabric size:
35.07”w x 47.50”h on 14 count fabric (over 2 on 28 count)
30.69”w x 41.56”h16 count fabric (over 2 on 32 count)
27.28”w x 36.94”h on 18 count fabric (over 2 on 36 count)
24.55”w x 33.25”h on 20 count fabric (over 2 on 40 count)
22.32”w x 30.23”h on 22 count fabric (over 2 on 45 count)

For the fabric it is necessary for you to add a minimum of 2-3 inches to each side (for framing or finishing).
Information regarding number of stitches:
Blue = 42860 stitches. Red = 17287 stitchesTotal = 60147 stitches
The sampler will have full stitches only, so there will be no problem with stitching it over one.
The red line on the diagram is not to be stitched, it is to delimit the parts and for you to find your place more easily. Please do not grid the fabric before the project starts as each part is a different size.

Important : Do not stitch the borders beforehand, but as each part comes out. Otherwise, you may not be correct at the end, and you may have to frog some of your work.
The stitching of the sampler is to be started in the left corner.
The colours on the pattern offered are given as a suggestion only, it is up to you to select colours that suit you. The colours used in the model are: blue – DMC 798 and red – DMC 815.

Information regarding fibre usage based on 6 strand 8m skein (approximate values):
14 count (over 2 on 28 count) = 19 skeins of blue & 8 skeins of red
16 count(over 2 on 32 count) = 18 skeins of blue & 7 skeins of red
18 count (over 2 on 36 count) = 15 skeins of blue & 6 skeins of red
20 count (over 2 on 40 count) = 14 skeins of blue & 6 skeins of red

Antique Blue & Red Alphabet Sampler Free Stitch-Along offered by Gigi R. & Carinne, modeled after old designs and the private collection of Gigi. Launching September 16, 2006.

Red Velvet

This pattern is called Red Velvet. It is stitched on 40 count cream Newcastle with Gloriana's Jacaranda. I bought 8 skeins of the Gloriana to make sure that I had enough. The material and thread does not do this picture justice.

Thread bedspread

This is part of one square that I am making for a bedspread. The wedding is July 14, 2007. I better be making more progress than this.....lol

Anagram Sampler Ronde

This is slow progress. I've been in a stitching slump. Although, it is easy to stitch with two colors; I'm finding it extremely boring. I guess I'm not seeing much progress.........lol

Lanarte's Hydrangea

This is an update of Lanarte's Hydrangea. As you can see...this isn't much of an update. I only put in approximately 100 stitches since last month.

French Alphabet Sampler

This is my progress so far...only 1 alphabet letter this month. How sad.........lol
I just noticed how far over the capital A is on my sampler. Oh no....all that progress and now I will have to rip out my stitching. Perhaps later this month I will face it. Bummer.......

Lanarte Hydrangea

This is my progress so far. This is stitched on antique white 28 count Lugana.

Anagram Sampler Ronde

Not much progress here either........lol Does blogging hold me accountable for my stitching? Sometimes......lol

French Alphabet Sampler

It has been a month of working on this piece. I had completed this much and then I found out that I was one stitch off....so I ripped it all out and redid it. I could have had more stitched if it wasn't for the mistake....but oh well, it still looks pretty good so far. Will I get this finished by July 2006? Only time will tell....

Hearts and Flowers Afghan

It took me a year to crochet this afghan. The yarn is Paton's Astra in Aran. Now for the fun part - the cross stitch. Compared to 36 count, this seems huge.

French Alphabet Sampler

I must say that I have been neglecting this piece while I have been shopping for more material and patterns for my stash. I must get back to this beautiful piece. It is an anniversary gift for friends of mine that will have been married 5 years this July. Nothing like pushing myself to see how much I can get done in a short period of time. This piece is done on Antique White 36 count Edinburgh with Topiary Gloriana thread - 46 yards.

Anagram Sampler Ronde

I just started this piece on March 2, 2006. The picture does not do the NPI colors justice. The material is on 32 count Flax Belfast. The thread is NPI silk color with number 503 for the red and number 991bb for the white. I love the way the red shows so many dimensions. Nordic Needle told me that 3 skeins of the red would be enough for the whole Ronde sampler and 2 skeins of the white...we shall see. On to stitching...
